On the 8 June 2014, Light and Love Charity and Yuhua Zone 5 Residents’ Committee co-organised a Light and Love Fun Day for the elderly at Yuhua neighbourhood. It was a special occasion as we had many overseas volunteers from Canada, Hong Kong and Malaysia supporting us for this event.
Throughout the event, the theme of “No Strangers in the World” was clearly brought out as overseas volunteers mingled with all the elderly despite their first encounter with the elderly on that day.
The highlights of the event included a series of interactive team games and dance performances, a drama, an exercise dance and two sing-along sessions. In all activities, the elderly were encouraged by our passionate volunteers to be greatly involved. Many elderly were very happy and it can be easily seen from their big smiles.
It was indeed heart-warming to see both elderly and volunteers enjoyed themselves so much throughout the whole event!
