On 11 June, Light and Love Charity organised a parenting workshop. Parents with children aged from nursery to university level attended the workshop. To start off, Sy Ching, a LLH volunteer who is a principal of a kindergarten introduced the concept of 4 Parenting Styles which allowed parents to reflect on their current parenting techniques. Furthermore, two teenagers were invited to share from their point of view on which parenting styles suit them.
Michael, another LLH volunteer who teaches at a ITE then shared on the blessings of having a family and the importance of family bonding. The workshop ended with small focus group discussions where parents shared their difficulties in parenting and discussed their gains from the workshop. All in all, the parents found the workshop refreshing and fruitful.
