From this project, we witnessed and were deeply encouraged by many professionals who spent time from their busy work schedule and jointly make a difference in many children’s life in Nepal. The progress of the construction is pleasantly smooth and the new home is expected to be ready for move in the 1st quarter of 2014.

During the trip, and in a unscheduled afternoon, the team held a hair-cutting session for the children. It was impromptu and most memorable. They also did repair work for the well water pump.

In Oct 2012, a group of Light and Love Charity volunteers visited Nepal Children Home for boys and girls. The tidiness, coziness and close bonding of the children home impressed the team. The team, all from different background, were deeply touched by the home parents’, Shanta and Hannah, love and care for the children.

Although they just met, the team had great fun playing games and baking cakes with the children.

It brought great comfort and joy to the team to see the children living in a loving and warm family, well-cared for after hearing their sad, and a few heart-breaking past. Many experienced great transformation in their life.

The team of volunteers consists of professional bakery background, and it is their dream that one day Light and Love Charity could turn this baking-for-fun effort into a sustainable project – a living enhancement program for the children.

It was most memorable to experience family life with them. The team had great fun teaching the older children to play the harmonica, while the younger ones learned drawing and coloring. Through these the team hopes that the children will be inspired to express their love and joy to each other.

Volunteers from affiliated organization such as Youth Growth Centre-JB, Malaysia and fellow members of dancing class of Ms Helen Liu and Ms Yu Hing, performed and raised fund for the children home building project in Nepal, India. The audiences were impressed with the performances, and many of them donated generously to the project.

Even passer-by were impressed by the photo exhibits; and many indicated their interest in joining the Light and Love volunteer programs. We sincerely thank all who participated and donated during the Charity Dinner.
